REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College's men's soccer team ended the season with a pair of 4-0 losses last week to Lake Tahoe and Butte College.
The Knights finished the year 2-16 overall and 1-11 in Golden Valley Conference play.
Lake Tahoe scored all four goals in the first half to beat Shasta. Freshman Kevin Meza recorded six saves as the Knights goalkeeper.
Against Butte, freshman Jordan Christian recorded 11 saves while surrendering four goals. Shasta freshman Christopher Gluyas received a red card in the match while the Knights were outshot 7-4. Kaito Shibata had two of those shots, Gluyas with the other and the fourth shot from freshman Samuel Elwood.
Sophomore Mason Jensen led the Knights in goals (12), points (25), shots (41), shots on goal (30).
Two others were tied for second on the team in goals with Jose Montoya and Gary Santos each scoring twice. Elwood had a team-best three assists on the season and was second in shots behind Jensen with 14.
Christian finished the year with 124 saves, 27 goals against for a .821 save percentage. Meza had 29 saves an allowed nine goals in four matches with a .763 save percentage.
