SHASTA SOFTBALL SECURES NARROW VICTORY AGAINST WEST HILLS COALINGA IN A THRILLING GAME

COALINGA, CA - On February 19, 2025, Shasta College's softball team emerged victorious against West Hills Coalinga in an intense matchup that ended with a final score of 3-2. The game, played at 1:00 PM under clear skies, kept both teams and fans on edge right up to the final inning.

Shasta struck first, scoring intermittently in the second, third, and fifth innings, thanks to contributions across the batting lineup. Notably, Madison Jones and Bailey Weibling made significant impacts, both securing key doubles and helping to bring runners home. Jones also showcased her speed and base-running prowess with two stolen bases during the game, adding to the team's offensive efforts.

On the pitching mound for Shasta, Morgan Bourke delivered a solid performance, managing a complete game with 7 innings pitched, allowing only 3 hits and 2 earned runs. Bourke's control was evident as she struck out two batters and maintained composure throughout, facing 26 batters in total. Her efforts earned her a well-deserved win, marking her first of the season with a 1-0 record.

West Hills Coalinga fought back valiantly, with Bryton Loflin's two-run double in the third inning being the highlight of their offensive efforts.
