KNIGHTS SWIM TEAM TAKE 5TH AT CVC CHAMPIONSHIPS
MERCED, Calif. — The Shasta College men’s swim team wrapped up the CVC Championships with a fifth-place finish, scoring 151 points at the Bob Pollitt Aquatic Center from April 16–18.
MERCED, Calif. — The Shasta College men's swim team wrapped up the CVC Championships with a fifth-place finish, scoring 151 points at the Bob Pollitt Aquatic Center from April 16–18.
Shasta College entered 12 events and recorded personal-best performances in 11 of them, a strong indicator of the group's depth and progress. The men's team finished the championship with 1 silver and 2 bronze medals, giving the Knights a productive championship weekend as they closed the conference meet with three medals
Individual highlights
The Knights were led by Ronald Abbott, who captured silver in the 100 IM and added bronze medals in the 50 Breast and 100 Breast. Nate Price also reached the podium, earning bronze in the 100 Fly.
Abbott posted a 5:12.42 in the 500 Free, then continued to improve through the championship finals, including a 28.54 in the 50 Breast, a 1:02.09 in the 100 Breast and a 56.73 in the 100 IM.
Nathaniel Price delivered a strong all-around meet, finishing fourth in the 50 Free and 100 Free before taking third in both the 50 Fly and 100 Fly. His 56.86 in the 100 Fly finals earned the bronze medal.
Andrija Gracum also contributed with a series of personal bests, highlighted by final swims of 26.16 in the 50 Free, 59.41 in the 100 Free, 1:11.03 in the 100 Breast and 29.57 in the 50 Fly.
