KNIGHTS SET SEASON-BEST MARKS AT BUTTE INVITE
MARYSVILLE, Calif. – Alyssa Burke won three events and the Shasta College track and field team set six season-best marks at the Butte College Black and Gold Invite at Yuba College in Marysville.
MARYSVILLE, Calif. – Alyssa Burke won three events and the Shasta College track and field team set six season-best marks at the Butte College Black and Gold Invite at Yuba College in Marysville.
Burke was a triple-event winner, capturing the high jump, long jump and triple jump. Her long jump mark of 17 feet, 5.25 inches and triple jump mark of 38-0.75 were the season-bests for the Knights. Sara Peters' javelin throw of 114-8 was also the season-best for the Knight women.
Anthony Pigoni-Covington set the team-best for the season in the long jump with a mark of 21 feet, 11.5 inches. Jackson Reindel hit the season-best for the 800 meters in 1 minute, 56.98 seconds and Rief Ehlerding also set the team-best for the year in the 1,500 meters (4:19.18).
The Shasta women took fourth overall with 55 points, following San Joaquin Delta (186 points), Butte (115.5) and Sacramento City College (70), respectively.
The Shasta men were seventh with 48 points, following Delta (136.5), American River (105), San Mateo (93), Butte (82.5), Sac City (66) and Yuba (59), respectively.
MEN
100 meters: Anthony McFall was ninth (11.36), Cameron Williams was 12th (11.48), Jonathan Simon was 20th (11.68), Holden Gilbert was 22nd (11.73), Jordan Hernandez was 43rd (12.17), Juan Chavez was 49th (12.38).
200 meters: Simon was 16th (23.47), Gilbert was 20th (23.60), Hernandez was 39th (24.80).
800 meters: Reindel was third (1:56.98), Gage Bellomo was sixth (1:59.36).
1,500 meters: Ehlerding was fifth (4:19.18), Devon Hammeke was ninth (4:31.42), Jonathan Wetz was 10th (4:39.41), Craig Hall was 12th (5:43.59).
10,000 meters: Ehlerding was fifth (37:49.46), Wetz was sixth (39:00.16), Hammeke was eighth (43:28.98).
4x100 Relay: Shasta's team of Gilbert, McFall, Simon and Williams was third (42.90).
High Jump: Anthony Pigoni-Covington was second (6-4), Evan Dobson was sixth (5-10).
Long Jump: Pigoni-Covington was third (21-11.5), Dobson was 14th (18-10).
WOMEN
100 meters: Chloe Whitmire was sixth (13.07).
200 meters: Whitmire was fourth (27.13).
High Jump: Burke won with a mark of 5-5.
Long Jump: Burke won with a jump of 17-5.25, Peters was fourth (15-2.25).
Triple Jump: Burke won with a jump of 38-0.75.
Javelin: Peters was second (34.95).
